Gourmia Dual-Door Air Fryer Oven (37 Qt) – Spacious Capacity Review

My first air fryer oven was a single-door model. Every time I opened it, the door swung down and became a shelf I did not ask for, sticking out over the counter edge, collecting drips, getting in the way of the tongs.

Then I used a French-door oven, and the difference felt absurdly large for something so simple. Two narrow doors. They open to the sides. Nothing juts out. You can stand close. It is a small thing, and it changes the daily experience more than any of the twelve presets.

The Gourmia 37Qt is the French-door design at family scale. Thirty-seven quarts. A full roasting chicken. A 12-inch pizza. Several pounds of wings at once. It is a lot of oven.

Is 37 quarts too much oven

For two people, yes. Honestly, yes.

Here is the thing about very large ovens that the capacity charts do not tell you. Heating 37 quarts of air to 450 degrees takes 1700 watts and real time. For a full chicken, that is exactly what you want. For reheating two slices of pizza, it is like hiring a bus to drive one passenger. It works. It is wasteful. And the preheat for a small job in a big box feels eternal.

The households this serves are the 4-plus ones, the entertainers, the meal preppers, the people who look at a 6-quart basket fryer and laugh quietly. If that is you, the capacity eliminates batching, and eliminating batching is the single biggest quality-of-life upgrade in this category. If it is not you, the Ninja AF101 or a 5-quart basket will make you happier and take up half the counter.

French doors, and why the door matters

Single drop-down doors have a failure mode nobody talks about. The hinges carry the weight of the door plus whatever you rest on it, and over years they loosen. The door starts to sag. Then it does not seal quite right. Then your temperatures drift.

French doors split the load across two smaller doors with side hinges. Less stress per hinge. Better longevity, in theory. In practice, the daily win is access. Both doors open, you see everything, you reach everything, nothing blocks your tongs. For a wide 19.5-inch oven, this matters. Reaching across a wide cavity through a single narrow door is how you burn your forearm. Ask me how I know.

The doors have windows, so you get the visibility benefit without opening. Same grease-film caveat as every window. Wipe them. Accept the haze. Move on.

1700 watts for 37 quarts: the math

This is the part I check first on any large oven. Small oven, big power, easy. Big oven, big power, necessary. Big oven, small power, disaster.

The Gourmia runs 1700W with a 90 to 450-degree range. That is the right power for the volume. FryForce 360 is the marketing name for the convection system, and like all such names, it describes hot air moving around, which is what every air fryer does. The question is whether it moves evenly, and that is a long-term-review question, not a spec-sheet question.

Twelve presets. Air fry, bake, toast, roast, broil, dehydrate, reheat, keep warm, popcorn, slow cook, proof, and one more I am forgetting. The useful ones are air fry, bake, roast, and reheat. Proof is a nice surprise if you bake bread. Popcorn is a button that exists because buttons are free. You know my position on function counts by now.

The noise surprise, in a good way

Large oven-style units are often quieter than small basket fryers, relative to their size. The reason is fan physics. A small fryer needs a small fan spinning fast to move air, and fast small fans whine. A large oven uses a bigger fan spinning slower to move more air, and the result is a lower hum rather than a high whine.

It is still audible. It is still a fan. But the character of the sound is less irritating, which matters in an open-plan kitchen where the thing runs for 45 minutes. A steady hum fades into the background. A whine does not.

Stainless interior, dishwasher-safe parts, and the cleaning reality

Stainless interior is the right material for a big oven. Scrubbable, heat-proof, no coating to baby across a huge cavity. The accessories are dishwasher-safe, and for racks and trays that is the only sane approach. Handwashing a 19-inch rack in a standard sink is a geometry problem.

Baked-on grease in a big oven is the long-term maintenance story. Wipe the interior while it is still warm, not hot, and the job stays small. Let it build up for a month and you are scheduling a cleaning session. This is true of every oven ever made. The Gourmia is not special here. Nobody is special here.

The footprint conversation

Sixteen and a half inches deep, nineteen and a half wide, thirteen tall, twenty-one pounds. Plus ventilation clearance. This is a piece of furniture.

Before buying, do the thing I failed to do with my first large oven. Tape out the footprint on your counter. Live with the tape for a day. Cook around it. If the tape annoys you, the oven will annoy you more, because the oven is taller and hotter than tape.

The Nuwave Bravo XL Pro and the Bravo 30QT are the same concept in different wrappers. The Gourmia’s differentiator is the French door and the 37-quart volume at a competitive price. If the door design speaks to you, and it spoke to me, that is a legitimate reason. Daily ergonomics beat spec sheets.

Gourmia French door air fryer oven with doors open

My single-door oven is gone. The hinge sagged, exactly as predicted, and the door never sealed right again. The French-door replacement is still going. The doors still close like they mean it.

Twelve presets. I use four. The doors I use every single time.
